Will you follow Jesus?? PLUS Video

Will you follow Jesus no matter what? I mean really? Even if it meant you had to give up everything?

Sometimes it's easier said then done which I've been learning a lot the past week. Lordship has been the topic for week seven and it was definitely challenging. Would I truly give up everything to follow Jesus, where I would prefer to stay in my comfort zone and keep my belongings rather then giving them away. Yet we are only here for a short time and when you think about it, everything that you have has been given to you. The money, your house, your family. You are blessed and I believe each one of us have the opportunity to reach out to those who are in need.

Following Jesus won’t be as much of a sacrifice as it will be a privilege. Honestly! When you think about it, what a privilege it is to be able to serve the king of kings. Jesus has picked us! Just like Jesus picked the disciples, men who didn't have a 'religious' background or label like the leaders did, but they were willing to learn. Jesus new their hearts!

As being a follower of Jesus is a lifetime calling and he want's us to follow Him. He wants to be the king of our lives! He want's you to leave everything and follow Him (even if it doesn't mean literately, but even if it's just paying for someones coffee which I did last week). To have Him as your number one in your life, because God want's us to experience the fullness of Him and if we have anything above him that's stopping us from having a strong relationship with God. Jesus want’s us to give up everything, because eventually it can become an idol it will destroy our relationship with Him. God wants all our heart!

A little encouragement for the day!!

Here's a bonus video of a dance my group did for a project that we had to present about an unreached country. We chose Burkina Faso in Africa.

Fear Of The Lord

The last two weeks have been crazily busy! We’re over half way through our lecture phase, which is so hard to believe! Oh how time flies!

Last week we had a lady named Mariecia Groenwald who is a part of YWAM in Perth, talk to us on the topic of Fear of The Lord. Learning that fear of the Lord is about having an intimacy, a relationship with God. When you have a relationship with God and Him alone, it doesn’t shift or change. We were born to be in a relationship with God and we will never be satisfied until he is our number 1 and God won’t let you go because He wants all of you. He wants to be close to us and he wants us to know Him.

So when you come into a relationship with God and you’ve positioned yourself to face God. You’re automatically turning your back to sin. Being positioned towards God leads us to holiness and holiness is agreeing with God. Agreeing with God is obeying Him. You begin to pray “More of you God and less of me”. He is jealous for us as sin destroys us, so that’s why he wants us away from sin. As God hates sin and that’s what draws us further away from Him showing that we don’t fear Him at all.

“The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show His covenant.”
Psalm 25:14

Thanks for reading this blog and for your prayers! You really have blessed me knowing that you guys are praying for me.

The Father heart of God - Week 5

Outside, perfect weather, at the beach and enjoying the sunshine…. What more could you ask for?

We stayed at a campsite 3 hours outside of Perth where our backyard was the beach. It was beautiful! It felt like a week away, which was great to get out of the YWAM routine. It’s always good getting away from the business of life and taking time to just sit with God. I did that for the whole four days that we were there. I enjoyed waking up and being able to walk along the beach, watching the sunrise, hearing the waves crash onto the shore. We went down with the Sports and the Priceless DTS students which really encouraged us to all mix and get to know each other as there are 111 students who are doing a DTS this quarter.

Besides being a little more relaxed this week, we still had lectures which I really enjoyed. It was on the topic Father Heart of God and we had Peter Brownhill speak who oversees a lot of missions here at YWAM Perth. He talked a lot on Identity and seeing yourself the way the Father sees you. While also talking about how God’s love for us is so unconditional and no matter what we’ve been through, He still loves us. I have found all of us in some point of life have experienced areas of being neglected, trust has been broken, our values and what we think of ourselves become negative with self-hatred or feeling like you’re not good enough. Many look for acceptance, affection or just the presence of someone who loves them. But all that we can find in God! All we’ve lost we can find in God! In your heavenly Father who loves you. He has never left you and never will! He wants you to trust Him and to believe in who you are again, because you are the way God made you and He loves you the way you are.

“Self-love is a genuine knowledge of God’s love for us, resulting in genuine accepting of ourselves”

Being secure means you are standing strong in your identity and God. Learning to accept who you are in God. I’m human and I still struggle with body image issues like any girl does. I still get those thoughts that tell me I’m not good enough, pretty and that I’m fat. My job isn’t to agree or listen to the thoughts, but to instead chose not to listen to the lies and chose to speak truth over my life. To speak out that I am beautiful and loved because that’s what God says about me.  To speak out the opposite of what you feel because our feelings can deceive us.

Our Orange bus.... Doesn't look awesome?!!!

He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!
Deuteronomy 32:4

I’ve enjoyed this week and being reminded of who I am in God. It’s so simple yet so effective! Sometimes we just need to be reminded because the enemy is out to destroy and it’s so important that we stand strong in who we are. Knowing that you are a child of God and loved so so much!!

Thanks guys for reading my Blog!

Intersession and Worship

Another impacting week has flown by so fast! We had a lady named Christine Wiener who if you heard her speak you knew that she’s passionate for God. As this week’s topic was about Intersession and Worship.

We learnt a lot on knowing and walking in authority. Knowing that you have the keys and all authority her on earth! That we are able to pray with great authority and we shouldn’t pray “God only if you want to…?!...” but declare and be hungry for God, knowing your authority, His power and that He is ALIVE.

Intercessory is so important because you a talking to God and you start to see a change in the spiritual and physical atmosphere. Don’t just pray when you feel like it because if you live on what you feel you won’t feel like praying at all. I mean, what if Jesus said he didn’t feel like dying for us? It’s not based on what we feel but that I want to meet with God in prayer.

This weeks bible verse:
"But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him."
Deuteronomy 5:6-10

I love worshiping and being in God presence and It’s in his presence that I find peace. Worshiping God gives us the opportunity to engage with Him, to engage into His presence and to be in His presence. Worship takes our eyes off us and into God.

Romans12:1-2 says:
"And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."

Pharisees were described as white wash tombs. Nice on the outside but dead in the inside. I want to be a person who offers my life as a living sacrifice. Choose to live your life worshiping God through everything you do.

“Worship is actively expressing our deep reference and love for God through surrender.”
Christine Wiener

God wants to be the first voice that speaks to you in the morning. So will you let him?
