Quick post and Modesty

Ok so.. wow!! This is embarrassing!! haha.. It seems I haven't posted anything for a couple of weeks and I feel terrible for that!! I really need to try and stay constant with it!! I mean I love blogging but lately school and life has just been getting hectic and I can't seem to find anytime to sit down and write.

I honestly do miss blogging and hope to try blog more!! Although the next few months might be busy with school so it might not be as constant! So if you come across and wondering why there isn't any new post, it's most likely because I'm studying. :)

So lately with my girls bible study group we have been talking about modesty, why it's important to be modest and what the bible says on this topic! We have had great discussions on this topic, disusing what each one has to say... It's been great!!

This week we talked more on what guys think about on this topic and also, we had a discussion about the bikini... Yes! I talked about the history and what guys think when they see girls in different amounts of clothing.

Today I thought I'd just do a quick post and show you this awesome video that talks about the bikini. It's a must watch video for all girls!!

Hope you enjoyed!

P.S. I shall blog more about modesty later on down the track!!

Random acts of kindness… on Wednesday!! #RandomWednesday

Hey guys!! So I've noticed I haven't posted for a while as I totally forgot about Random Wednesday last week.... :-/  But I'm back for another week of Random Wednesday!! haha.. So here’s just a fun quick post!!! :D

‘Random acts of kindness’ is something I've been thinking about a lot. I’m always trying to find fun ideas to bless others, so I’ve put together a list of ideas. I love seeing people reactions and the love that they show when they receive something out of the blue.

John 13:34-35 says:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Note: If you going to do any of these ideas, include a written message on a sticky-note such as, “Just a little something to bless your day” “You are loved” etc…

1.      Pay for someone’s coffee
2.      Leave change on the vending machine
3.      Pay for someone’s meal behind you in the drive through
4.      Bless someone that’s working or works at your favourite place to eat with a gift (A little chocolate) and a note.
5.      Help the elderly clean or even just with a visit, as that always blesses them.
6.      Let someone go in front of you in the line.
7.      Smile and say hi to a stranger
8.      Leave a note of encouragement
9.      Give someone a hug
10.  Encourage a co-worker
11.  Slip paper hearts that say “It’s Random Acts of Kindness Day! Have a great day! Pass it on!” under the windshield wipers of parked cars.
12.  Write a thank you note to someone
13.  Pick up litter
14.  Clean your friends room
15.  Take flowers to hospital and give it to someone that hasn’t had any visitors
16.  Discover a person’s potential and encourage them
17.  Open a door for someone else
18.  Write a letter to someone who has made a difference
19.  Cook a meal for a friend
20.  Invite someone for a hot chocolate and pay for them
21.  Leave chocolates on your teachers desk

Now go and bless someones day!!!! <3

My decision on... Living a healthy lifestyle!

Note: Everything I’ve post below is for me so don’t feel bad or pressured to start doing what I’m doing.  This is just to encourage you!

So today I just thought I’d talk about something that I have been thinking a lot lately and living…. And that’s a healthy lifestyle! I have never been an extremely healthy person when it comes to food or even exercise as I don’t play sports…. Nor am I good at sports… haha… But lately I’ve just been so excited when it comes to eating healthy. I’ve started to get a fresh revelation on this topic and how to do it in a godly way.

Now I’ve decided to go 100% into this (Well more like 95% as well.. You got to have treats, because you’re not living if you don’t!!)… Although I want to start off by learning to love myself, cutting out processed sugar (And a few other foods) and to exercise at least five times a day. And I’m doing all this with God! I don’t want to become obsessed like I did the first time and failed… I want to do it in a way that I’m putting God first and just having fun with this whole lifestyle.

Although to be honest, it has taken me awhile to get to where I am now. For example, I use to say “Yes” to every chocolate pudding or lollies that would come my way. Although I had discovered that eating sugar had started to overpower me. I would find it so hard to say “No” and would give into eating even if I was full. It was physically, emotionally and mentally making me tired and sick. But I didn’t know what to do or how to change.  I wanted God to take over and not for me to continue to hurt myself. I wanted to start treating my body like a temple of God. Because that’s what my body is and I was physical abusing it by stuffing myself. I would then get so mad at myself for eating too much and give myself big long lectures.. ahaha.. But now I have learnt that it’s ok, and when you start hurting yourself for something bad you ate then.. well.. You’re doing it wrong!!

So I’ve decided to live a healthy lifestyle. And do it God’s way! I had to learn not to be obsessed with my body or what I ate. And to not beat myself up if I ate something that was, well… ‘Naughty’ (sugary/fatty food). To love my body and who God made me to be, because this healthy lifestyle (diet) would just not last long! As I’ve said, I tried and failed!!! If you want more on this topic, check out my ‘Being Healthy Not Skinny’ post where I go into more detail!

All in all this is a new journey for me, so I might post more on this topic now and then. It's something I want to keep doing and I know I'm still learning!

God Bless!!

P.S. This is only a snippet of my experience and what I am currently doing. I don’t use the word diet at all as a diet has an expiry date, where a lifestyle is forever!!

Random Wednesday: Pinterest Crazy!!!!

Pinterest is something that I’ve really been loving latterly! So today I thought I’d just write something small about an app that I’ve been loving.. And that’s Pinterest.. For those that have it you’d know what I’m talking about, But if you don’t… In a nutshell… Pinterest is an app where you can pin your interests (hence the name) .. haha.. But it is seriously amazing because you can pin your faves such as food, diy, fashion, quotes and loads more… I’ll have to admit I’ve kind of become obsessed with it.. ;) But I find the app so useful as I can scroll through my food board and look for something yummy to cook.

That’s all for Random Wednesday today!!

God Bless!!!

Bible Verse of the Month!! (Isaiah 43:2)

If you haven't noticed already on the right hand side I have my 'Bible Verse of the Month'... So what it is, I choose a bible verse every month to post on my blog. Usually something I came across during the month and really liked!! So I thought every month when I add my new verse, to also do a blog about why I like this verse and why I choose this as my verse for the month...

So about a month ago I wrote a blog called "Encouragement for the day: Standing Alone!" and I included this verse.... I wont be writing extremely that much on it today as I've already done that (Go read it if you haven't!!) in the other blog. So my favourite verse for this month is Isaiah 43:2!!

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Isaiah 43:2-3 NIV

This verse we have recently been looking at in my girls bible study group! But this verse to me means about God ALWAYS being there for me!! That he will never leave!! That when I go through hard times God will be there protecting me!! When I look at my future I look at it to being big and I know I can't do it without God. That's why trusting him is so important to me! Trusting God with EVERYTHING!!! My life, my future, those tough situations..... Absolutely everything! This is a verse that I'll hold onto when those hard times come!! When those times of trouble come upon me, I can go back to this verse and speak it out "When I walk through the fire, I will not be burned"
Trusting God with everything and know he is in control!!

Thanks for reading!!
God Bless!!

Random Wednesday: Picnic adventure

Recently my sister Hannah and I went on a picnic. We hadn't gone on a picnic since autumn and since it's been getting warmer here in the afternoons, we decided to go. Hannah and I absolutely love going for picnics, plus since my last Random Wednesday I talked about I how I've been wanting to set time apart to spend with my sister... And this is definitely one way we have! :)

So today I just thought I'd post some photos of our adventure and a few tips!! Also below is the link to my pinterest picnic board...

Our gorgeous view with a lake!!! :D

It was such a perfect day, no wind or rain which we were so grateful for as its winter now where I live and raining is what it's been doing lately. It took us a while to figure where we wanted to go for the picnic, but in the end we decided to go to the lake. It was just beautiful!! I love sitting and looking at God's beauty! <3

Bellow is my lunch I took on the picnic. Sure, it's a bit random.....haha.. But I just thought I'd post this on my blog for an idea. I keep trying to find picnic ideas and when it comes to food it can be a bit hard to find something to make that doesn't involve bread. This lunch below is a perfect easy lunch to pack for a picnic.

I also love looking for picnic ideas on Pinterest!! One idea I found was using jars for storing food or using as a cup is also a awesome idea!!

Thanks for reading today's random blog!!

These are a few of my favourite things…. For June!!!

Beanies!!! As it’s winter now where I live, beanies have been a must have to keep warm!! I love wearing them and they are seriously so cute and look great with anything!!  They make any outfit look cute!

Pinterest…. I never use to be in to pinterest, but latterly I’ve just been loving it!! Seriously!!! It’s kind of become addictive in a way!! Haha…. I love all the craft (diy), food and fashion ideas… I just can’t seem to get enough!!  Saralovecraft is my username if you want to check out some of my boards!!?

Salt and vinegar chips have become an obsession!! ok so if anyone knows me well they know that I absulutly LOVE Salt and vinegar chips…  haha… But latterly I’ve been trying to eat more healthy which means getting rid of all those carbohydrates. So that means no more salt and vinegar chips on road trips :(… But recently I found this new brand that is well… healthy!!! It's the Golden Hash brand! So this has now become a special treat for road trips or when I’m going to friends house, this has become a great replacement for those potato chips!!

Favourite song would have to be Carry me by Josh Wilson!! I love this song!!!!! It’s so catchy!! Seriously!! Click on the link and you’ll k now exactly what I’m talking about!! The song talks about asking God to carry you (me) as life can get hard… “Carry me, carry me, carry me now. From my sinking sand to Your solid ground”. Songs like these are extremely encouraging and seems to put me in a good mood!! :)

Favourite movie…. So I again can’t choose between two, so I’ve decided to add them both to my faves!! The first one would have to be Nicholas Sparks new movie Safe Haven!! Words can’t explain how much I love it!! It’s a lot different to the other stories he has written, but it is so so good!! It’s such a cute, romantic story that keeps you on the edge of your set at the same time. Definitely on my top favourites this month!!
The second movie is Geek Charming which is a Disney movie that I absolutely LOVE!!! I love Disney movies as they’re something I can watch with the family without having to skip half the movie (if you know what I mean?!?). The movie has been out for about a year now but I recently bought it. It’s one of those family friendly dorky/cute movies that everyone likes. I suggest this movie for any girls sleepover!! It’s just one of those movies you never get tired of watching!!
